"this your only chance at
immortality, I'll give you strength
but i cannot give you the keys"

"But, the first band that really showed me what I could do with machines and still rock was Nine Inch Nails. trent reznor made it intense and heavy. because of him, my music changed drastically"

Nine Inch Nails former drummer and programmer Chris Vrenna helped produce and remix the second album Music for People.

Also from Nine Inch Nails, Alan Moulder mixed the Music for People album.

At the age of thirteen, John was recognized by Guitar Player magazine as one of the young guitarists to watch.  Now 22(I believe), he has already changed music as we know it, so imagine 10 years from now.

You may have heard "Touched" (from VAST's first album) in, The Beach or on Angel.

"Making the video for 'Free' was grueling. In it, you see me pulled through the mud once, but I had to do that take, like, 30 times. I went through two pairs of pants. It was gnarly. I wore the exact same harness that Tom Cruise wore in Mission: Impossible 2 -- I mean the one he literally wore."

"On the first record, I had sampled a lot of 'world music.' This time I wanted something that was recorded live. We traveled to Mumbai, India to record their parts. It was an amazing learning experience and the highlight of everything I've done."

"I don't think we quite fit into what's going on musically today. It's a blessing and a curse at the same time. Inside, I feel good about it, but it's maybe not the greatest thing for your career. We're not really part of a 'scene.' We're kind of on our own, and that can be hard."

"Now, though, "I'm sick of drawing comparisons to Trent Reznor. I consider myself a songwriter. I don't think my songs have anything to do with him and I think I have a vision of what I want to do that's pretty separate from anything out there" -John Crosby
